Located on the corner of Marsh Lane and Main Street, this ‘glacial erratic’ was carried down from the Lake District by glacial activity some 10,000 - 12,000 years ago. It is it composed of a granite, a blend of quartz, felspar & mica, typical of that district. The integral map shown here appears on just one day a year (April 1st) and is visible only through the bottom of a small whiskey glass!
